Author Biography

Wayne Kao joined Microsoft in January 2003,working as a developer on the PowerPoint team. He developed PowerPoint 2007 features such as the pretty, new effects and the new XML  file formats; improved the undo, setup, placeholder, and Photo Album features; and worked to integrate SmartArt, chart, table, and picture improvements into PowerPoint 2007. Wayne also contributed to PowerPoint and Office Picture Manager 2003.

Jeff Huang is currently working as a developer for Microsoft on his second release of PowerPoint. He has learned the ins and outs of the product by implementing features and exposing himself to the inner workings of PowerPoint. Each day that he spends working with the talented people who make PowerPoint, he picks up an obscure new trick or shortcut. Jeff hopes to empower you to create better presentations not only by making PowerPoint a better product, but also by helping you become an expert PowerPoint user. He wants you to be the person who does something new, cool, and unusual in PowerPoint, the person who makes others exclaim, “Wow! I didn’t know you could do that!”

When not writing books about PowerPoint, Jeff can be found skiing, playing golf, or playing with his dog, Pouncer.
