Summary

This volume charts the rise of this pioneering Moroccan company from 1920, detailing its capacity for invention and reinvention, its themes and inspirations. The history of Azuelos jewelry began in 1920 when Isaac Azuelos began making fine diamond jewelry in the capital of Morocco. In 1955 Joseph Azuelos opened his small shop in the centre of Rabat and started to present his unique jewelry to Moroccan clients. The largest family-run jewelry retailer in Morocco, Azuelos brings together the best of high quality European design with traditional Moroccan culture. Distinctive designs are developed by an internal team of designers who, along more traditional lines, create modern jewelry with purified lines based on the ethnic designs of the Berbers, Touranes, and Arabs. The creativity of Azuelos is confirmed winning the first prize in the brooch category for the unique piece "COMETA" at the 5th Tahitian Pearl Trophy Middle East. Lavishly illustrated with archival and contemporary photographs, Azuelos Jewels will captivate jewelry lovers around the world.
