Author Biography


James Russell Tysome MA, PhD, FRCS (ORL-HNS), Specialist Registrar in Otolaryngology at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals. Tysome read preclinical medicine at Christ's College, Cambridge University and clinical medicine at University College London. During his preclinical studies at Cambridge, he also completed a BA in Neurophysiology. He undertook his basic surgical training in London, prior to entering the South-East Thames training program in Otolaryngology. He was recently awarded the gold medal for first place in the FRCS (ORL-HNS) examinations. He has a research interest in molecular head and neck oncology and was awarded a PhD for his work in the field of viral gene therapy at the Institute of Cancer at Barts and the London Medical School. He is currently in his penultimate year as a Specialist Registrar in otolaryngology.

Rahul Kanegaonkar BSc, DLO, FRCS (ORL-HNS), Consultant in Otolaryngology at Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent Rahul Kanegaonkar qualified at University College London and undertook house jobs at the Whittington and Mount Vernon Hospitals. He was then appointed as a casualty officer and anatomy demonstrator at St. Thomas' Hospital, where he completed his basic surgical training. He entered the South Thames ENT Registrar Rotation and is now a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Medway Maritime Hospital.
