Author Biography

<b>David Andrusia</b> has contributed to every edition of <i>Frommer&#8217;s Gay &amp; Lesbian Europe</i>, and to the forthcoming <i>Frommer&#8217;s California from $70 a Day</i>. He is the author of <i>New York Hot &amp; Hip</i> and <i>L.A. Hot &amp; Hip</i>. He is also the author of two acclaimed career guides <i>The Perfect Pitch</i>, and <i>Branding Yourself</i>, and the best-selling <i>Feng Shui Chic</i> (with Carole Swann Meltzer). He also works as a career consultant. He can be reached at davidandrusia@mindspring.com. <p> <b>Memphis Barbree&#8217;s</b> resume includes stints as a newspaper reporter, landscape designer, videographer, and U.S. Army Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense Specialist. She has written for <i>The Charlotte Observer</i>, <i>The Sun News</i> (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and <i>Frommer&#8217;s New Mexico</i>. The author who puts the &#8220;lesbian&#8221; in <i>Frommer&#8217;s Gay &amp; Lesbian Europe</i> is currently based in the American Southwest. <p> <b>Haas Mroue</b> has published poems, stories, and travel articles in journals and magazines including <i>The Literary Review, The Michigan Quarterly Review</i>, and <i>Interiors</i>. He&#8217;s written for Berlitz and <i>National Geographic</i> travel guides. This GWM grew up spending summers in the South of France and studied at American University of Paris. At the University of California, Berkeley, he guest-lectures for June Jordan&#8217;s Poetry for the People. He is the author of <i>Frommer&#8217;s Paris from $80 a Day,</i> and <i>Frommer&#8217;s Memorable Walks in Paris</i> as well as a contributor to <i>Frommer&#8217;s Europe from $70 a Day</i> and <i>Frommer&#8217;s Argentina &amp; Chile</i>. When not on the road, he&#8217;s at home writing in a small cabin on the beach in Washington State. <p> <b>Donald Olson</b> is a novelist, playwright, and travel writer. He has contributed travel stories to the <i>New York Times</i> and many other publications, including <i>National Geographic&#8217;s Small Town Escapes</i>, <i>America&#8217;s Hidden Corners</i>, and <i>Weekend Getaways</i>. He&#8217;s the author of the award-winning <i>England For Dummies</i>, <i>London For Dummies</i>, and <i>Germany For Dummies</i>, plus guidebooks to Oregon, Berlin, and the Pacific Northwest. His novels include <i>The Secrets of Mabel Eastlake, Paradise Gardens, A Movie,</i> and <i>Queer Corners.</i> Bantam London published his novel <i>The Confessions of Aubrey Beardsley;</i> his play <i>Beardsley</i> has been produced in the Netherlands, and London. <i>My Three Husbands</i>, his newest novel (under the <i>nom de plume</i> Swan Adamson) will be published by Kensington Books in 2003. Donald Olson was one of <i>Genre</i> magazine&#8217;s &#8220;2000 notable queers for the last 2000 years.&#8221;
