The "McLean Course in Electrodiagnostics" is intended to allow first year residents to become knowledgeable of and comfortable with electrodiagnostic techniques. It is designed to be used either by educators as a course curriculum or as a stand-alone self-teaching tool for individuals. The electrodiagnostic material is broken into discrete topics and follows a standardized format. Each study includes bulleted lists of objectives, fundamental concepts, and tips for success. The procedural information is boxed and throughout the text photos to guide electrodiagnostic set-ups accompany the specific examples of lead placement and stimulation. Each unit includes multiple choice questions and answers. The "McLean Course in Electrodiagnostics" is the outgrowth of a course developed at the Kessler Institute in 2004 by a group of residents led by the late Jim McLean. The course furthered the understanding of electrodiagnostic fundamentals and provided hands-on practice for residents.
