Author Biography

Fiona Dunlop's peripatetic life has led her from the Australian beaches of her birth to an upbringing in London, University in Sussex, and subsequent jobs in Italy and Monte Carlo. During 15 years spent in Paris, she was strongly involved in the arts before immersing herself in journalism. She has written widely for numerous international art and interior design magazines and national newspapers (Observer, Sunday Times, The Times, Art International, Interni, House and Garden, among others), as well as indulging her taste for the tropics and ancient cultures by long research periods in developing countries. These have produced travel guides to India, Indonesia, Singapore & Malaysia, Vietnam, Mexico, Costa Rica, and, most recently, southern Africa. Her National Geographic Traveler: Portugal will be published in fall 2005. Since 1980, Fiona Dunlop has regularly visited Andalucia to write articles and books in what she considers to be the optimum conditions, combining sol y sombra (sun and shade) with delectable tapas.
