Pinta fuera de la raya / Color Outside the Lines

En nuestra sociedad inculcamos que la obediencia es la principal virtud. En efecto, requerimos de una estructura, leyes y normas, éstas nos dan una buena base de la cual partir, para de allí volar.

El problema empieza cuando nos atoramos en esa base, cuando no nos atrevemos a analizar ni a decidir, cuando creemos que obedecer ciegamente y quedar bien con los demás es lo más importante. Pinta fuera de la raya muestra con gran sentido del humor, la riqueza de atreverse a desobedecer.

In our society we instill that obedience is the most important virtue. In effect, we require structure, laws, and regulations, these give us a good base from which to start, from which to fly.

The problem begins when we get stuck on that base, when we dare not analyze or decide, when we believe that blindly obeying and looking good to others is the most important thing. Color Outside the Lines shows us, with a great sense of humor, the wealth that awaits when we dare to disobey.

Susan Pick es doctora en Psicología social e investigadora que ha dirigido el desarrollo de programas pioneros de salud, educación y reducción de pobreza. Es autora y coautora de más de 300 obras, incluyendo libros para niños y de texto que forman parte del currículo escolar nacional, en temas de metodología de la salud y empoderamiento, formación cívica y ética, habilidades y competencias para la vida, educación para la sexualidad y escuela para padres. Es profesora de la Facultad de Psicología de la UNAM y Presidente de Yo quiero Yo puedo (IMIFAP).
