Summary

Author Biography

William Kotzwinkle is the author of such enduring classics as The Fan Man, Fata Morgana, Swimmer in the Secret Sea, and The Bear Went Over the Mountain. His numerous children's books include E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Trouble in Bugland. He has twice won the National Magazine Award for Fiction, as well as many other honors here and abroad, including the World Fantasy Award. Glenn Murray spent many years as an educator in Canada, while also writing documentaries and radio dramas. His devotion to initiating children into the lifelong joys of reading has made him an international ambassador for literacy and Walter's official spokesperson. Elizabeth Gundy is best known for her novel Bliss. Among her other books are Cat on a Leash and the comic novel The Disappearance of Gregory Pluckrose. She was also co-creator of the first two Walter books. Audrey Colman has illustrated all three of the Walter books in her distinctive style, using a unique digital painting/collage technique. She also wrote and illustrated a picture book entitled Francine, Francine, the Beach Party Queen!
