Summary

Dorothy Alice Christian is a young girl who is having trouble paying attention in class. The story starts on the day before school breaks for winter vacation. That is the good news. The bad news is it is also time for report cards. Dorothy's is nothing to brag about. Before going on break, the class is told they must do two book reports while on vacation. The two books Dorothy chooses are The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland because she has the movies. The great plan comes crashing down when her mother sees the bad report card and grounds her without television privileges until her homework is done. Dorothy teams up with her best friend, Anne Plunkette, to tackle the task at hand. Along the way, they go through a series of adventures that eventually bring Dorothy face to face with "The Wizard of Wonderland."
