Author Biography

Thomas P. Ofcansky received a Ph.D. in East African history from West Virginia University (1981). He has held several academic posts and is currently with the Department of State. Robert M. Maxon received a B.A. in history from Duke University, and a Ph.D. in African history from Syracuse University. Since 1969, he has been a member of the faculty of West Virginia University.
